Spring and the Land feat. Gerald Ganglbauer
Filmed on a trip to Vienna across the Semmering some weeks ago in January 2019. I was driving at constant speed, thanks to cruise control. The tunnels had some hypnotic or psychedelic affect on me and suit this song perfectly. Spring and the Land agreed and approved the clip. Gerald Ganglbauer

Wasn’t I the One
Parkinson duet performed by Jacques Bush and Gerald Ganglbauer, Words and music by Jacques Bush/Marino Acapulco

Spring and the Land are Jacques Bush (voc., guit., synths); Marino Acapulco (drums, voc., synths); David Künstner (bass); Klaus Wohlgemuth (guit., voc.); Kurt Bauer: (violin) is a folk-punk band formed in Graz, Austria in 2008, and known for playing an eclectic variety of music. They support Parkinsong Duets with a live recording. You treat me well, but I don’t mind.
From the well the plight is coming … coming bad.
I sit and watch the hours,
Wonder if I’ll ever make it home … so tired of hanging. You treat me well but I don’t mind.
You think your every wish is my command.
Once I was waiting for the fame,
But things ain’t never what they seem to be.When I wake up, I feel homeless,
Wasn’t I the one?
Understood and punished all the way.You treat me well, but I don’t mind.
From the well the plight is coming … coming bad.
I sit and watch the hours,
Wonder if I’ll ever make it home. When I wake up, I feel homeless,
Wasn’t I the one?
Understood and punished all the way.So long, hey! Do I know
Wasn’t I the one.I drank the whole week away
Give me everything to be …When I wake up, I feel homeless
Wasn’t I the one …
So misunderstood who’s found where he belongs … -
Paul and Michael

Michael J Fox performing a duet with Paul Simon © michaeljfox.org Apparently Michael J Fox performed a duet with the great Paul Simon, but unfortunately none of them responded to my enquiries. The only proof is in the picture above, found somewhere on the Fox Foundation’s website without the music. A pity, because I would have loved to listen to them singing together. Could it perhaps go on Volume 2 of Parkinsong Duets?

So Here I Am
Parkinsong duet performed by Johnny Schwarzinger and Uli Sajko, Words and music by Johnny Schwarzinger, poem by Uli Sajko

Mirror inside my soulI’m on the warpath with myself
Really out of stepFeels like I’m on a wire
Cutting all the linesTo come out in the open
Not aching anymoreSo here I stay – So here I go
No matter if it’s sun or rain
So here I go – So here I stay
No matter if it’s sun or rain
So here I go – So here I stay
No matter if it’s sun or rainPut the sun in my pocket
Wash the clouds out of my mindThere’s no need to protect
My eyes from the lightTo come out in the open
Not aching anymoreSo here I am – So here I stay
No matter if it’s sun or rain
So here I stay – So here I go
No matter if it’s sun or rain
So here I go – So here I stayNoch wirft die Sonne einen Blick
Durch mein Fenster … jeden Tag -

We don’t keep a Cent. So where goes the money?

Your €15.00 make €15.00 when you buy the CD direct, say at a concert, from one of us; or you have bought it online at our Webshop and paid for shipping. If you went to a record store and paid €15.00, both the store and the retailer would have kept a percentage. This means only between €4.00 and €6.00 came through.

Billy Spakemon (Dr Brian Dakin)
Born Oldbury the Black Country West Midlands England 28/11/1952My work engages with the notions of identity through place, voice and histories. I write, perform, am a public speaker, radio show host, academic, events organiser, community project leader and freelance project co-ordinator, among other things. I recorded the above song during a year long project I organised with John Langford to raise funds for local Parkinson support groups in the Black Country and Birmingham. The song came about from a memory session I did with a dementia group and an elderly lady began to sing an old chapel song (only the first line as that was all she could remember). It developed into the song on the Parkinsong Duets CD. I asked Ray Andrews a local businessman who has Parkinson’s. He was the starting point of our fund raising efforts in 2018 and an inspiration.

Believe in Everything You Do
Parkinsong duet performed by Pete Wain and Andy Hitchman
Words and music by Pete WainOne life is all we get
So make the most of it
Fulfil your dreams, follow your heart
Reach for the starsOpen your mind, feel compassion
But don’t let it blind youDon’t close your eyes angel, be aware of everything
You got your whole life in front of you
Who knows what tomorrow may bringListen to the sermon, let your conscience grow
Feel your heartbeat, let your lifeblood flowBelieve in everything you do
Remember nobody can touch you
When your mind is free of guilt and your heart is trueTrue love is never easy to find
And it only takes a fool to be blind
Open your mind, feel it in your heart
Reach for the starsBelieve in everything you do
Remember nobody can touch you
When your mind is free of guilt and your heart is trueBelieve in everything you do
Remember nobody can touch you
When your mind is free of guilt and your heart is true
Believe in everything you do -
How Will It Be
Parkinsong duet performed by Badhoven and Gerald Ganglbauer
Words and music by Kurt C GreilbergerI’m driving here alone
The road I’ve ever known
When the night comes in
Will it change
My life so rough
I ask my stars above
How will I know, howBut I’m here to be with you
Forever be with youBaby, how will it be
If I’m holding you tight
How will it be
If I love you tonight
How will it be
If I’m sharing all
All my dreams with youI feel I’m not alone
With the fight I’ve ever known
Will you stand by me
Take my hand, take me all
Take the centre of my soul
Then you will know, you willWhy I’m here to be with you
Forever be with youBaby, how will it be
If I’m holding you tight
How will it be
If I love you tonight
How will it be
If I’m sharing all
All my dreams with youSolo
I’m here to be with you
Forever be with youBaby, how will it be
If I’m holding you tight
How will it be
If I love you tonight
How will it be
If I’m sharing all
All my dreams with youForever be with you
Baby, how will it be
How will it be, how will it be
If I’m sharing all
All my dreams with you
Forever be with you
How will it be -
Not the River of Mercy
Parkinsong duet performed by The Base and Gerald Ganglbauer
Words and music by Norbert Wally
The river I swim is not the river of mercy
The river I’m in is not the river of mercyI took a swim the other day
To wash away my sins and worriesI washed my hands I washed my face
but I can’t stay in here foreverThe river I swim is not the river of mercy
The river I’m in is not the river of mercyIt doesn’t wash away my pains
It doesn’t grant me absolutionWhen I get out I’ll take the chance
To wash my hands in muddy waterThe river I swim is not the river of mercy
The river I’m in is not the river of mercyI’m gonna swim it after you
Pray you’ll wait out in the oceanThe river I swim is not the river of mercy
The river I’m in is not the river of mercy -
It’s Always Me
Parkinsong duet performed by The Base and Gerald Ganglbauer
Words and music by Norbert WallyIf you hit your head on the door it’s my fault
Because I left it open for you to go thru it
And if I had closed it you would have cursed me in a similar styleYou put me in charge of your moods and your minds
Of the the things you forget, of the things you can’t find
Of your smiles, of your fears, of your pains and another half sleepless nightWhy is it always me?
Who knows where it’s going
And where the wind’s blowing, it’s meWhy is it always me?
Who can make u feel better and make u feel worse
Who’s in charge of the fate of your whole universe
It is meNow why is it me around who your world’s turning?
And why would I take care of all things concerning
Your primary needs and your wishes u don’t wanna talk about? Now, I’ll be your hero and I’ll be your bag full of dirt
You can kiss me and kick me and hurt me
And lick me and call me things
Stupid things you do not care aboutWhy is it always me?
Who knows where it’s going
And where the wind’s blowing, it’s meWhy is it always me?
Who’s got the control, who can save every soul
It is meWhy is it always me?
Some say it’s a bliss but I see it as a curse
I’m in charge of the fate of your whole universe
It is me -
A Message in a Bottle from Sting
Hi Gerald
Many thanks for your email.

Sting 2018 (Wikipedia) As you will appreciate, many approaches are made to Sting, with similar requests as yours.
However, although he and we feel a strong sentiment for such requests, it is impossible to satisfy everyone’s wishes. And so as not to have the unfortunate task of having to pick and choose which request to go with, we have decided to put them on hold for the foreseeable future.
On Stings behalf we would like to wish you all the very best with your project.
Kind regards

Break All Chains
Parkinsong duet performed by Badhoven and Gerald Ganglbauer
Words and music by Kurt C Greilberger
[verse]
Ever in search for
The meaning of live
I’m giving and taking
On the edge of fates knife
I’m learning to taste the,
The tears of joy and fear[bridge]
I’m living hope
A reckless smile
A pool of wit
Just the tools of a fool[chorus]
Then I break all chains
And don’t ask why
I take my broken wings
And learn how to fly
I make a new start
No, no mountain that’s too highI believe in what I do
Working hard to make it true
In my life, in this life[verse]
Should I think it’s better
To stay at the same four walls
No, I am a free man
In the mercy of my Lord[bridge]
I’m living hope
A reckless smile
A pool of wit
Just the tools of a fool[chorus]
Then I break all chains
And don’t ask why
I take my broken wings
And learn how to fly
I make a new start
No mountain that’s too highI believe in what I do
Working hard to make it true
In my life, in this lifeI break all chains
solo
I believe in what I do
Working hard to make it true
In my life, in this life[chorus]
Then I break all chains
Break all chains
Break all chains
Break all chainsI Break all chains
(Break all chains)
I Break all chains
(Break all chains)
I Break all chains
(Break all chains)
Break all, break all chains
(Break all chains) -
When I Look into Your Eyes
Parkinsong duet performed by John Langford and Gisi Steinert
Words and music by John LangfordIch schaue in deine Augen
Ohne Schmerz oder Kummer
Ich schaue in deine Augen
Es ist nur Liebe, die ich sehe
Dann schaue ich in deine Augen
Ich sehe ein neues MorgenLike ships in the night
Things get hidden away
The darkness it hides
Things we should see in the day
We must realise
Life’s a game we all play
Open your eyes
Just open your eyesThen I look into your eyes
And see a new tomorrow
I look into your eyes
Without pain or sorrow
I look into your eyes
It’s just love I see
Then I look into your eyes
And I don’t fear nothing
You make me realise
All the good times coming
I look into your eyes
And you’re all that I needWenn ich in deine Augen schaue,
Fürchte ich nichts
Du bringst mich dazu zu erkennen,
Dass gute Zeiten kommen
Dann schaue ich in deine Augen
Du bist alles was ich braucheLike ships in the night
Our lives they just flicker away
We all take our sides
It’s a game we all play
Our fate will decide
What we do everyday
Just open your eyes
Open your eyesThen I look into your eyes
And see a new tomorrow
I look into your eyes
Without pain or sorrow
I look into your eyes
It’s just love I see
Then I look into your eyes
And I don’t fear nothing
You make me realise
All the good things coming
I look into your eyes
And you’re all that I need
